Truffle Split green beans

This is another recipe that I am sure will change the way you think about green beans. You simply split them/cut them in half or three/four times with a machine that you will find in the photos below. I simply wouldn’t enjoy them before I found this machine in Portugal! Love them now!

Southern smoky green beans Southern smoky green beans
I love a good crisp tender sautéed green bean but this isn’t that. This is old fashioned southern smoky green beans done so easy it’s almost embarrassing. It starts with regular old canned green beans but tastes slow cooked. Make enough for tmrw because it’s better the next day. If you reeeeeally wanna make this southern, add small new potatoes (small red potatoes). SherryRandall: The Leftover Chronicles -

You will say more please! We are not really green bean people. We add them in things, but hardly ever make them for just themselves. However, we love, love, love these. I think the good thing about this recipe, is you could change the cheese type, nuts, or no nuts, and it would still be excellent. And it's so quick and easy. Plus it scales easy for more or less. T' Jim's New Orleans Red Beans & Rice T' Jim's New Orleans Red Beans & Rice
"I love you once, I love you twice. I love you more than red beans and rice.", so they say here in Louisiana. There is a common misconception that this dish is Cajun, but in fact; it is more Creole/New Orleans that has Cajun influences. Typically back in the old days, red beans and rice were always made on Monday because that was "Wash Day" and housewives could put on a pot in the morning and let them simmer all day while they attended to the wash.
