Steps

Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf hing cinnamon pepper corns cloves and cardamom. Add in chopped onions. Fry till they change colour. Add curry leaves.

Add hing. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies.

In a bowl of chickpeas add red chilli powder coriander powder chole masala and salt. Mix well and add to the pan. Mix well.

Add rice which was soaked for 15 minutes. Transfer to a cooker. Add 2 bowls of water. Let it come to a boil.

Add 1 tbsp of ghee. Close lid and cook for 2 whistles. Remove the pressure.

Serve with raita.
