Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupsfine bulgur
  2. 1/2 cupflour
  3. 1small onion
  4. 1 teaspoonbasil
  5. 1 teaspoonsalt
  6. 1/2 teaspoonpepper
  7. 3 literswater
  8. 1 tablespoonvegetable oil
  9. mix of smashed garlic and lemon
  10. olive oil for serving
  11. For filling:
  12. 4-5sliced onions
  13. 1/2 cupraisins
  14. 1/2 cuprough crushed walnuts
  15. 1lemon peel
  16. 1 teaspoonsalt
  17. 2 tablespoonspomegranate syrup (optional)
  18. 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  19. 1 tablespoonsumak
  20. mix all ingredients together
  21. For garnish:
  22. 1/2 cupolive oil
  23. 2tableapoons of sesame

Steps

    Boil the potato till its well done, peel and smash

  2. 2

    Soak bulgur in water for 5 mins and strain well.

  3. 3

    Finely grind the onion with salt and spices.

  4. 4

    Add the onion mix to the bulgur, rab with hands till its soft, add the smashed potato, flour, and knead into a dough.

  5. 5

    Mix all the filling ingredients together with a bit of sesame and spread in a medium size oven tray

  6. 6

    Spread a layer of kibbe dough on top of the filling, rub your hands with olive oil, and smooth the kibbe very well.

  7. 7

    Using a knife. Segment the spread layer of kibbe dough, pour the oil, sprinkle the rest of sesame, then bake in the oven on medium heat till it has turned a golden color.

    Serve it hot or cold as desired.
