Dal fry usually prepared with tuvar ,here I prepared it with mixed dal which makes it more healthy and nutritious .Dal Fry served with steamed rice,salad,papad is a delicious,hearty and comforting dinner.

Dal fry usually prepared with tuvar ,here I prepared it with mixed dal which makes it more healthy and nutritious .Dal Fry served with steamed rice,salad,papad is a delicious,hearty and comforting dinner.
Steps

Take mixed lentils (as per your choice), rinse it for couple of times, then add turmeric powder,1cup water with the lentils and pressure cook it for 8-9 whistles or till it cooked properly.

In a heavy bottomed pan heat oil,add garlic cloves, saute it till it become golden brown,then add chopped ginger and asafoetida, again saute it for a while.

Add chopped onion and tomato, fry it till it become soft, add chilli powder, garam masala powder, saute it for a while, now add the boiled dal.

Stir it continuously, simmer the dal for 5-6 minutes till you get desired consistency, add chopped coriander leaves and put off the flame.

Heat ghee in a small pan, add cumin seeds and dry red chilli, now it on the cooked dal ; serve hot with steamed basmati rice, roti or naan.
