Ingredients

  1. 150 gramschana dal
  2. 250 gramsrice
  3. 2Tomatoes
  4. 1Green chili
  5. 1onion
  6. as per taste salt
  7. 1 teaspoonturmeric
  8. 5-6 Tablespooncooking oil
  9. 1 teaspoonGinger garlic paste
  10. 1/2 tspjeera

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak chanadaal fo 50-60mins and then presuure cook it I 4 -5 whistles. Add salt and turmeric powder while cooking.

    Take a deep pan and heat 2- 3 tablespoon oil and add 3 glasses of water and salt. Let it come to boil and add the soaked rice (soaked for 20 mins) and let it cook for 5 -7 mins.

    Once the rice absorbs water completely, turn the flame to low and cover the vessel and let it simmer for few mins so that rice is completely cooked in the steam.

    Now take a small pan. Heat some oil, add jeera, ginger garlic paste and then finely chopped onions and cook until golden pink. Add chopped tomatoes and green chili. Add salt and turmeric powder and let it cook for few mins on low flame, until tomatoes are cooked

    Now add this tadka to the cooked dal and mix well. Serve with rice or chapati. Please note to enhance the taste of dal you can add some garam masala powder and red chilli powder.
