Ingredients

  1. 1 c.Sugar
  2. 1 c.Corn syrup
  3. 1/2 c.Lard
  4. 1/2 c.Milk
  5. 1/4 t.Cinnamon
  6. 1/8 t.Pepper
  7. 1/4 t.Nutmeg
  8. 1/4 t.Peppermint oil
  9. 3/4 t.Baking powder
  10. 1 1/2 t.Ginger
  11. 1/2 t.Anise seed
  12. 1 TBaking soda
  13. 1/2 t.Cloves

Steps

  1. 1

    Stir and heat first 4 ingredients

  2. 2

    Cool and add spices

  3. 3

    Add enough flour to make a hard dough, and knead. Roll into thin lengths and chill overnight on wax paper on a cookie sheet

  4. 4

    Cut 1/2" lengths and place onto baking sheet. Bake at 350.
