Mix butter and shortening for 3 minutes

Add and mix 5 min on medium the flour, sugar, and salt

Add liquid ingredients and mix on medium for 5 min

Pour into wax lined pans to 1/2"thickness. Bake 1 hr 15 min at 350. Remove wax paper and cool

Store overnight in closed container. Cut into squares or shapes, place onto a wire rack, and pour icing over cake and let dry.

Icing is 4 c. Icing sugar to 1 egg white, with a little water, coloring, and flavoring--thick as thick cream to pour over cake
