Soak rice for at least 8 hours.

Drain water and rinse well.

Pour rice into blender and blend to smooth paste. Add sugar (optional) and salt.

Add the cooked rice and blend to smooth paste. Be careful of water to avoid it being watery. Add baking soda. Pour in a bowl, cover and allow to rise before frying.

Put masa pot on fire and lower heat. Pour in oil and start frying.

Turn to other side when one side is done. Keep turning until golden brown.
