Ingredients

1.5 to 5 Hours
5 servings
  1. 3 lbstewing beef - cubed
  2. Olive oil or peanut oil
  3. Flour
  4. to tasteOptional - Creole seasoning
  5. 1 1/2sweet onions (or 2 small) - chopped
  6. 2red bell peppers
  7. 1 quartbaby bell mushrooms - sliced
  8. 1 tbsptomato paste
  9. 2 tbspdiced garlic
  10. 1 tbsppepper
  11. 1 tbspKosher salt
  12. 1 1/2 cupsred wine (pinot noir)
  13. 2 stalkscelery
  14. 1small bag baby carrots
  15. 3russet potatoes - chopped
  16. 1large sweet potatoe
  17. 2 cupsbeef broth
  18. 1 cancrushed tomatoes - if needed

Cooking Instructions

    Heat up a skillet add oil in the mean time take beef and dust with flour (Optional - add creole seasoning to flour and mix prior to dusting). Add to heated skillet brown meat on all sides then take out of pan and set a side on a plate

    Add additional oil to pot beef was browned in (if needed). Add, onion, peppers, and mushrooms. Cook down veggies.

    Add, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and tomato paste. Saute mixture and then add red wine and bring to simmer.

    Put potatoes, carrots, celery and beef in large pot or slow cooker. Add in the wine and veggie mix Pour in the broth. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours in crock pot or slow simmer on stove until meet, potatoes, and carrots are tender.

No tmatoe paste. Added 1 regular can of peeled and crushed tomatoes, 1 tbsp Tony Cacheries, 1 tbsp worstechire, frozen onions and peppers, Montreal steak to flour mixture.
