This is a quick and dead simple recipe to make 2 french style baguettes or 1 large loaf.

Allow about 2 hours for each rising time if you have the time to spare, or just shape before first rising and cook. Either way is good.

  1. 1 cuplukewarm water
  2. 2 1/2 cupsflour
  3. 1 1/2 tsp.yeast
  4. 1 TBLsugar

    Beat thoroughly until dough makes a smooth ball.

    Let rise until doubled in bulk.

    Cut into 2 strips for narrow loaves or leave whole for a big fat one.

I am a Bermudian British Canadian Portuguese former American. I am a self professed meatatarian. Vegetables are what the food eats.I learned how to cook by watching and helping my mother and grandmother, both of whom are Portuguese. Coming from a large family, I learned to cook in quantity so don't expect that my recipes are made for small families. Some tailoring may be required.I love to cook, and I love to eat. Travelling around the world, I eat at the local mom and pop restaurants rather than chains so I can taste the local fare.I hope you enjoy my recipes as much as I enjoy making them.
