Lentils and special rice

Ingredients

  1. 1 glassgreen lentils (Soaked and boiled)
  2. 2tomatoes
  3. 2bell peppers
  4. 2onions
  5. 2carrots
  6. 1/2 tablespoontumeric powder
  7. 1/2 tablespooncumin powder
  8. 1 pinchAjinomoto
  9. 1 bunchdhania
  10. 5 clovesgarlic
  11. Ginger
  12. 1 tablespoonroyco mchuzi mix
  13. Salt
  14. Vegetable oil
  15. 1 tablespoonTomato paste
  16. 1lemon
  17. 1 glassrice

Cooking Instructions

    Cut all the ingredients.

    We will first start with rice.Fry 1 onion until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Add 1 bell pepper and let it cook while stirring.

  4. 4

    Wash the rice and then add to the above mixture.

  5. 5

    Stir until it is well incorporated.Then add to glasses of water.

    Cover and turn into low heat for it to cook.

    Lets cook the lentils.

    Fry the onions till golden brown.

    Add the tomato paste and stir continuously till the oil turns to red.

    Add the carrots and the bell pepper and continue stirring.

    Add the tomatoes and let the mixture cook for 3 minutes.

    Add the boiled lentils

    Stir the mixture and add vegetable stock or royco mchuzi mix.

    Let it cook for 25 - 30 minutes.Keep checking and stirring.

    Turn off the heat and add dhania and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (optional).
