Steps

Soak the yam for about 3-5 minutes in warm water with salt and turmeric powder to prevent itching.

Peel the skin, wash and clean.

Cut yam into slices.

Heat oil with medium flame, once hot add the mustard seeds, and curry leaves, green chilies, garlic and sliced yams.

Add the salt mentioned and fry it for 2-3 minutes.

Then add 2-3 tablespoon of water, close the lid and allow cooking with a low flame.

Once it is boiled more than half, add asafetida and mix thoroughly.

Continue to simmer without a lid until its golden brown border.
