Inexpensive and nutritious. Start with just 5 simple ingredients, and choose your own add-ins. Easily adjustable to suit your needs.

Sauté onion and ground beef in oil in iron skillet.

Add potatoes, cook until potatoes are partially cooked.

Wash cabbage and drain slightly. Add to skillet.

Cook until potatoes are tender and cabbage is soft.

Stir in apple cider vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste, and simmer until flavors are blended, about 10 - 15 minutes. Serve from skillet.

May substitute sausage, or leftover roast, or chicken for ground beef. Add cooked meats at end of cooking time, and omit oil if using sausage. May use either red or green cabbage, or vary amounts of meat and vegetables to suit your needs.

Add-in Ideas: Carrots...Add chopped raw with potatoes, or canned towards end of cooking. Turnips...Delicious to substitute for 1 or 2 potatoes; cook with potatoes.....I've also thought about adding a drained can of diced tomatoes. Get creative!
