Japanese Curry
Made at home in our own style, we like it not too spicy.
Steps
- 1
Dice the onion, carrot, potato, and pork. Coarsely chop the apple and banana together.
- 2
Heat oil in a pan and sauté the pork and onion until fragrant. Then add the carrot and potato, and continue to sauté until the onion looks translucent and shiny.
- 3
Transfer everything from the pan into a medium-sized pot. Add the coarsely chopped banana and apple.
- 4
Add the broth and simmer on low heat for about 1 hour. Stir occasionally to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pot and burning. Once the vegetables and pork are tender and soft,
- 5
Add the coarsely chopped curry roux to the pot and stir with a ladle until the roux is completely dissolved. Adjust the seasoning to taste. Once done, stir well, bring to a boil again, then turn off the heat and remove from the stove.
