Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cupsAll purpose flour
  • Pinchsalt
  • 1/4 cupsugar
  • 1 teaspoonbaking powder
  • Blueband/margarine
  • Cooking oil
  • 1egg
  • 1/4 cupwarm milk
  • 1/4 cupwarm water
  • Lemon zest (optional)
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix the dry ingredients in one clean bowl (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, lemon zest,cinnamon)

  2. 2

    In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, water and melted margarine/blueband

  3. 3

    Slowly add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while kneading to make a chapati-like dough. Add more flour or wet ingredients as needed.

  4. 4

    When the dough is not too soft and not too hard and not sticky, pour a tablespoon of oil and knead it together and let it sit for 5 minutes

  5. 5

    Make fist sized balls from the dough and place them on a surface

    Roll out each dough but let it still be a bit thick

    Cut the rolled out dough into desired shape

    Heat a deep pan or sufuria quarterway with oil on medium heat

    Add the shaped dough one by one until they fit into the pan comfortably

    Deepfry until brown on both sides then drain all extra oil

  11. 11

    Place into a hotpot with kitchen towels to seep any extra oil

    Serve with tea, juice... Any beverage 😊😋
