Soak daal for 4-5 hours.

In a pressure cooker add dal, water, salt, turmeric powder and cook on high flame till the 3-4 whistles and lower the flame for 10 minutes.

Other side on a wok add oil, cumin seeds when it starts to splutter add onion, paste and saute it when it turns golden add ginger chilli paste and stir add dry masalas.

Add tomato puree and cook it nicely till the tomatoes are cooked then add this into the cooker and mix well. Cook it on a low flame for 5 minutes then add milk cream or malai and adjust water by adding as much required.

This recipe requires patients and low cooking method let it simmer on low flame by adding water or milk between intervals when completely cooked add butter serve hot with naan or Tanduri roti.
