Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsWhite chickpeas
  2. 2tomatoes (chopped)
  3. 2medium Onions (finely chopped in chopper)
  4. 5-6 clovesminced Garlic
  5. 1 tbsp.Ginger paste
  6. 2Green Chilies chopped
  7. 2 tbspmustard oil
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  10. 1.5 tspRed Chili Powder
  11. 1.5 tspCoriander powder
  12. 1/4 tsp.Garam Masala Powder
  13. 1/4 tspCumin Seeds
  14. leavesFor Garnishing Coriander

Cooking Instructions

    Soak chana overnight
    Boil Chana along with salt on Low Heat for 20-25 minutes

    Now for tempering take the Pan first and put Oil in the Pan.
    When oil is ready Add Cumin seeds.

    When Cumin Seeds splutter, add minced Garlic and Ginger Paste.
    Add chopped Onions and add a pinch of Salt and fry till they turn slightly brown
    Now add the Masalas and fry for some time till they get roasted t

    Add Pureed tomatoes and fry till the oil leaves from the sides.
    Add chopped Green Chilies.

    By now the pressure would have released and strain Chole reserving the water for adding later.
    Mix them well in the masala so that they get coated nicely
    Cook on low flame for 5-6 minutes
    Keep stirring but

    Add the same reserved and stir nicely

    Cook the Chole with gravy for 8-12 min more till gravy thickens a bit.
    Adjust the consistency of gravy by adding more water if needed

  7. 7

    Garnish with Coriander Leaves
    These chhole taste awesome with zeera rice
    But can be Served with Puris, Parathas or Chapatis too.
