The original idea was posted by JJ, master of comfort food and cheesy deliciousness! Please check out his page for loads of more great dishes! When i saw this recipe, i immediately liked the idea, but i didnt have spinach, so i substituted with brussels sprouts, fresh dill, carrots and avocado guacamole. Also im such a cheese eater, i overdo it most of the time, so this time i decided to skip cheese, and use sour cream and cream and a bit of cheese cream instead, therefore i skipped the canned soup too.Plus i wanted to add a slight asian feel with the soy sauce. Thank you so much for the inspiration, the dish is fab!

Ingredients

  1. For the meatballs
  2. 500 gminced meat of your choice
  3. 1/3 bottlesoy sauce
  4. to tasteDried thyme
  5. 2 clovesgarlic
  6. For the veggie layer
  7. 5normal size potatoes
  8. Butter for buttering the dish
  9. 6 piecesbrussels sprouts
  10. 1small carrot
  11. Some salt
  12. 3 tbspgreen avocado guacamole
  13. For the cream
  14. 100 mlheavy cream
  15. 2 tbspsour cream
  16. 4 tbspready cheese sauce

Steps

  1. 1

    Clean and slice the potatoes and cook them for 10 minutes in salted water. Cook the brussels sprouts and cleaned carrot in a different bowl, in salted water, till tender. Slice the brussels sprouts and carrots when ready

  2. 2

    Grease a dish with the butter, wall and bottom also. Arrange one layer of potatoes on bottom, layer the brussels sprouts and carrots on it, cut the dill in small pieces, add it.

    Also add the guacamole

    Make the meatballs, 8 similar size balls, mix the meat with soy sauce, thyme, and minced garlic. Arrange it on top and also put potatoes between

    Make the cream: mix the ready cheese sauce with heavy cream and sour cream. Add it on top of meat. Cover with foil and put it in the oven for around hour. Check regularly. For last 10 minutes remove foil.

I like to discover new spices and ideas.i never try to follow the "official" rules in cooking, but rather my main ingredient is my passion. When i imagine a dish, first i cook it in my head and i try to imagine how it will taste like. if the ingredients will be in harmony, how can i make it technically and what side dishes would match well. what i have learnt from south-east asian cuisines is, that fresh ingredients are unbeatable. in nutrition, taste, look and color, crispiness and moistness. my recent goal is to use as many fresh herbs and veggies as possible. there are only a few dishes that i dont like, few type of seafood and seaweed. any other ingredient is on my horizon if i plan to create something new,cooking is my art.
