Varanphala
Also known as Dal Dhokli.
Steps

Cook 1/2 cup Toor dal in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.

Take the flour in a bowl, add salt and water as required to knead a tight dough.

Take a portion of the dough and roll out using a rolling pin as thick as a roti.

Now, cut it out into small squares using a knife. Keep these pieces aside on a plate and do the same with the rest of the dough.

Grind the green chillies, ginger and garlic to a fine paste.

Heat oil in a kadhai, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, prepared paste and saute for a minute. Add mashed dal, turmeric powder, salt and 3 cups of water. Let it cook well.

After it comes to a boil, add the prepared phala (squares of the dough) and let it cook for 15 mins on medium flame.

Tempting and delicious varanphala is ready!
