Mix the vinegar and milk (unless you have buttermilk on hand!).

Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda.

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

Make a well in the flour and pour in the soured milk. Mix with a spatula: you'll get a soft and sticky dough, don't worry! 😉

Place directly on a floured baking sheet and shape into a rough disk, or in a floured round dish. Make two deep cross cuts on the top.

Bake for 15 minutes at 450°F (230°C), then lower the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for another 30 minutes.

Let cool before slicing! Best the same day, but also very good the next day, toasted with butter for example 😋
