Ingredients

  1. For Dhokli
  2. 2 CupWheat Flour
  3. 1/4 cupgram flour (besan)
  4. To tasteSalt
  5. 2 tbspoil
  6. 1 tspcarrom seeds
  7. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  8. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  9. As neededWater for kneading dough
  10. Dal Dhokli
  11. 1 cupBoiled Pigeon Peas (Tuvar/ Arhar Dal)
  12. 2 tbspoil
  13. 1 tspmustard seeds
  14. 1/4 tspasafoetida
  15. 2dry red chillies
  16. 3finely chopped onions
  17. 3finely chopped tomatoes
  18. 3green chillies
  19. 1 inchGinger
  20. 5-6Garlic pods
  21. 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  22. 1 tspred chilli powder
  23. 1 tspcoriandor cumin powder
  24. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  25. to tasteSalt
  26. As neededWater
  27. 2 tspLemon juice
  28. 2 tspChopped coriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    In a kneading plate add both the flours, hand crush carrom seeds, salt, turmeric powder.

    Red chilli powder, oil, add water and knead stiff dough

    Add oil and knead it again. Cover it and keep it aside.

    Take a pan/ kadhai on medium flame. Add oil mustard seeds, get crackled. Add asafoetida, dry red chilli.

    Now add onions saute it till it get golden. Add chopped tomatoes, saute it. Till smashy. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder.

    With coriandor cumin powder, garam masala. Crush ginger garlic green chillies, salt. Mix it well.

    Add boiled blended dal with water. Let it get boiled.

    Now make equal parts of dough. Roll big size Roti (Thin). Cut it in square. Roll all Rotis.

    Once dal start boiling add square pieces of rotis. Mix it, cover it. Cook it for 10 min. Check roti piece cooked, add lemon juice, Chopped coriandor. Mix it well.

    Serve hot with salad. Yummy hot Rajasthani Dal Dhokli.
