Beat sugar and cooking oil till creamy

Fold in the dry ingredients as you alternate with milk

Grease your baking tin and dust with flour

Pour in the batter and tap

Light your jiko and ensure charcoal are red hot

Pour salt on big sufuria and preheat for 10 minutes

Put in the sufuria with batter, cover with a lid, put hot charcoal on top and bake for 30-40minutes

Insert a toothpick or knife and if it comes out clean it means the cake is ready
