Ingredients

1 hr 30 mins
4 to 5 servings
  • 1 kgBong meat –
  • 1Beef bone –
  • 1 cupGhee or oil –
  • Onion – 1 sliced
  • 2 tbspGinger garlic paste –
  • 1 tbspSalt –
  • 1 1/2Red chilli powder –
  • tbspNihari masala – 4 tbsp
  • 1/2 cupYoghurt
  • 4 tbspChappati flour –
  • 2 tbspFresh corinader –
  • 2 tbspGinger flakes –
  • Green chilli – 4 chopped
  • Lemon slices - 4
  • nihari masala homemade
  • 3 tbspFennel seeds –
  • Cinnamon sticks – 2 to 3
  • 2Big cardamoms –
  • 6Green cardamoms –
  • Black pepper – 12 tp 15
  • Dry ginger – 1″ piec
  • 6 piecesMace –
  • Nutmeg – 1/2 ” piece
  • 1 tbspCoriander powder –
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric powder –
  • Add all above ingredients in grinder
  • Nihari masala is ready

Steps

  1. 1

    Take a pan, add ghee or oil and fry onion until light golden brown.

  2. 2

    Then add ginger garlic paste, beef, bones, salt, red chilli powder and nihari masala, mix and fry well.

  3. 3

    Then add yoghurt and fry.
    Now add 10 cups of water, cover and cook for 1 hour on low heat.

  4. 4

    Then mix chapatie flour in 1/2 cup of water and make thin paste.
    After 1 hour add this flour mixture in nihari and stir continuously until all flour mixture is mixed well.

  5. 5

    Now cook another 15 minutes. Check consistency you need.

  6. 6

    When nihari is done, garnish with fresh coriander, ginger flakes and green chilies.
    Serve with ginger flakes, lemon slices and naan.
