Mix gram flour with water, add food orange colouring make into a smooth batter

Fry the batter using strainer. Keep fried boonthi aside. Let it cool completely.

Grind fried boonthi into coarse texture (optional, if want smoother texture ladoo)

Boil sugar, add lemon slice,cardamom and food colouring. Boil for 10 minutes.

Add fried boonthi into the sugar syrup. Cover with lid. Cook for 3 minutes in low flame.

Let it rest completely. Leave it in the same pan for 1 hour. After 1 hour add nuts/raisins/ unsalted sun flower seeds if you want to and mix well. Make into a ball shape.
