Measure and cut all the ingredients for the recipe. For a juicy burger, use ground beef with a higher fat content; lean beef will make the burgers dry. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the seasoning ingredients. Divide the meat into 4 portions. Shape each portion into an oval patty with your hands.

Preheat a grill pan well. Lightly brush both sides of the eggplant slices and bell pepper halves with oil. Grill the vegetables on both sides until cooked. Grill the burger patties the same way.

Do not press down on the burgers while cooking, as this will squeeze out the juices and make them dry. Grill the cheese slices on the pan. To serve, layer a grilled eggplant slice, grilled bell pepper, burger patty, grilled cheese, and top with another grilled eggplant slice.

Serve the burgers with a salad.
