Ingredients

  1. 1/4 kgAvaraikai/ Broad Beans
  2. 2 tspOil
  3. 1/4 tspMustard seeds
  4. 1/4 tspUrad Dal
  5. 1Medium Size Onion chopped
  6. Curry leaves few
  7. 1Dry Red Chili broken
  8. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  9. 5Garlic pods roughly chopped
  10. Salt-as per your taste
  11. 1 tspSambar powder
  12. Water-as required
  13. 1 TbspGrated coconut (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and cut the beans into thin slices as shown in the picture.

  2. 2

    In a kadai, add oil. Once oil gets heat, add mustard seeds and urad dal. Fry it.

  3. 3

    Add onions, curry leaves, red chilli and turmeric powder. Saute in medium flame till onions becomes translucent.

    Add beans, garlic, salt and sambar powder. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Add water. Cover and cook till the beans gets cooked. Atlast add grated coconut and mix well. Transfer to a bowl.

    Now it's ready to serve. Serve as a Sidedish for your lunch.
