Ingredients

2 servings
  • 1bittergourd or karela chopped
  • 1/2 cuppumpkin cubed
  • 1small onion chopped finely
  • 1/4 tsp kalonji /black seed
  • 1 1/2 tbspmustard oil
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  • To tastesalt
  • To tastesugar
  • 1dry red chilli

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Slit bittergourd and deseed.Chop into semi circles.Cube pumpkin into small pieces.Smear little salt in them.Chop finely 1 onion.Heat oil in a pan and sprinkle kalonji and 1dry red chilli.

    When they splutter,add chopped onion and fry lightly.Add chopped bittergourd and pumpkin.Fry in low flame.Add red chilli powder,turmeric,salt and sugar to taste.Sprinkle little water and cook covered on low flame till done.

    Serve as a side dish with rice in lunch.
