Ingredients

  1. protein
  2. 4 pcsskin-on boneless chicken thighs (or any part you want)
  3. sauce
  4. 3 tbsphoisin sauce
  5. 2 tbsphoney (or sugar for cheaper option)
  6. 1 tbspoyster sauce
  7. 1 tbspdark soy sauce
  8. 3cloves garlice (minced/grated)
  9. 2 tbspChinese Five Spice
  10. basking sauce
  11. 2 tbsphoney
  12. 1 tbspdark soy sauce
  13. other
  14. Rice
  15. Steamed veggies (any desired)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Prepare the sauce in large bowl, then stir well.

  2. 2

Marinate it together with the chicken for at least 3hr and up to overnight.

  3. 3

FYI: if you use Indonesian or Malaysian dark soy sauce, you dont need to put honey or sugar in any process because it sweet enough already.

  4. 4

    Preheat oven to 180C.

  5. 5

Line a large baking tray or roasting dish with foil (so that you have less to clean the mess). Top with a baking rack. Then place the chiken.

  6. 6

Cook it in the oven for 15min.

  7. 7

While waiting, wash the veggies. Then put it in microwave bowl with 1/4 cup water and cover it with cling film. Microwave it on high heat for 2min. Leave it covered until ready to serve.

  8. 8

FYI: For more Chinese style, you can do fried veggies by cooking it in hot pan with 1-2tbsp oil. Put minced garlic until it has nice aroma. Then, add veggies and add 1tbsp oyster sauce, 1tbsp fish sauce and 1tbsp soy sauce. Then stir well and set aside.

  9. 9

Mixed the basking ingredients above in small bowl. Then take out the chicken and bask it thoroughly at the top and back. As mentioned, if you use Indonesian or Malaysian dark soy sauce, you don't need to add honey or sugar.

  10. 10

Put back into the oven for another 10min.

  11. 11

    Serve with rice and veggies.
