Ingredients

25 minutes
4 servings
  • 2-3peeled boiled and roughly mashed potatoes
  • 1/4 cupboiled peas
  • 1onion finely chopped
  • 2-3green chillies finely chopped
  • Pinchturmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspcurry powder
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 4-5curry leaves
  • Pinchasafoetida
  • Handfulfinely chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tspLemon Juice
  • 1 tbspoil
  • Green Chutney
  • 1 bunchcoriander washed
  • 1/4 cupspinach leaves
  • 4-5green chillies (this chutney has to be spicy
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tsplemon juice
  • 2-3bread slices roughly chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (optional)
  • as needed water
  • For the raw stuffing
  • 2 tomatoes Slices
  • 2 onions slicee
  • 1cucumbers slices
  • as neededGrated cheese (optional)
  • as neededSandwich masala

Steps

    In a pan add oil once hot add asafoetida, cumin seeds and let it change color.

  2. 2

    Mix in the curry leaves and onion, let this onions turn lightly pink.

  3. 3

    Add turmeric powder,salt and curry powder.Now throw in the potatoes,peas,finely chopped chillies, salt to taste.

    Cook this mixture well sprinkle coriander and juice of half a lemon.

    Let the mixture cool and set this aside

  5. 5

    Grease the grill. Apply butter evenly 2 slices of bread.

  6. 6

    Now apply generous amount of green chutney on the bread.

  7. 7

    Too this up with the potato mixture. Add grated cheese, one slice of tomato, onion and cucumber each on to the potato mixture.
    Sprinkle some sandwich masala.

  8. 8

    Now cover this potato laden bread with another slice of bread, to which both butter and chutney has been applied.

  9. 9

    In a hand sandwich toaster place the sandwich and cook it on the gas too for 2-3 mins on medium flame or until lightly golden brown.

  10. 10

    Keep flipping sides to get even cooking.
    Serve with green chutney and ketchup.
