Ingredients

30 mins
4 servings
  • 1 CupMoong Dal (Dhuli)
  • 3 CupsWater
  • 1/2 teaspooncardamom powder
  • 1 CupCoconut milk
  • To tasteJaggery grated
  • 1 TablespoonRaisins
  • 1 TablespoonCashew
  • 1 Tablespoonchopped Coconut
  • 2 TablespoonDesi ghee
  • Garnishing
  • As neededgrated coconut

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Turn on the flame of the gas and dry roast the Moong Dal for 4 mins in slow and medium flame. Wash and soak in water for 30 mins.

    Then Pressure cook it and wait for 3 whistle and wait to release it's gas by it's own. Now take another Pan and place it on gas stove and pour 1 Teaspoon of ghee and now boil Dal for 2 to 3 mins.

    Then in another Pan melt Jaggery with 3/4 th Cup Water and just pour it to the Moong Dal and cook it for 15 mins in slow flame.

    Now add coconut milk and stir it continuously for 2 mins in slow flame. Add cardamom powder, Don't over cook it,Turn off the flame.

    Now take another Pan and place it on the gas and pour there 1 Teaspoon of ghee then roast all Nuts, chopped coconut, raisins turn off the gas. Now pour it to the prepared Payasam. It's ready cool it and serve with grated Coconut.
