This is an exquisite gluten-free dessert made to be enjoyed at any time. It's healthy and can be served as a quick dessert to guests too. #flourchallenge

To prepare the custard cream, prepare according to the instructions on the back of the custard powder container.

For the maize malva, put the measured sugar in a bowl and add in the eggs. Whisk until its all fluffy and airy.

In a separate bowl, measure the flour, bicarbonate and salt, mix and sift it.

In a separate bowl, pour in your melted butter, vanilla essence and milk. Mix and pour in to your egg mixture.

Pour in the sifted flour into the mixture and whisk well. Pour in the mixture into a baking tin which is greased and lined. Pop it in a preheated oven for 45 min. In the first 15 minutes, bake it under 150° and for the other 30 min, bake it under 180° until browned.

To test the readiness of your maize malva, insert a skewer at the centre, when it comes clean it's ready.

Let it cool for 15 min and remove it from the baking tin. Serve, drizzle with custard and enjoy.
