Chana dal Payasam
Steps

Rinse the dal.in a pressure cooker take 1 tsp ghee,add dal and dry roast for few minutes until the dal turns aromatic.

Add 2 cups water and pressure cook dal for 7-8 whistles,remove cooker from gas,check dal is cooked and is soft.

Keep on low flame,add jaggery and mix well until it melts.

Add coconut milk and normal milk and keep on stirring.please note-if you enjoy coconut flavour increase quantity of coconut milk and reduce milk.

The payasam should be medium thick..keep on flame until you get required consistency.this should take few minutes.

In another pan,take 1 tbsp ghee and lightly fry cashews and raisins.pour payasam into serving bowls.garnish with nuts.

Enjoy payasam hot or cold.
