Ingredients

  • 1/2 cupSoaked Arhar ki Dal (Toor lentil)
  • 1/2 cupSoaked Moong Dal (without skin / dhuli)
  • 1 Cupfresh Moringa leaves (washed with water)
  • 1 teaspoonextra Moringa leaves to be used for tadka
  • 2Tomato (cut into halves)
  • 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoonginger garlic paste
  • 1Big Onion chopped
  • 2Dry red chilli
  • 1 pinchAsafoetida
  • 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  • 2 TablespoonsMustard oil
  • as neededWater
  • To tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Take a pressure cooker and boil Both Lentils with moringa leaves and tomatoes add 1 and 1/2 glass of water. Add there little salt and turmeric powder to it and turn on the gas and pressure cook it. Wait for 2 full wistle to come.

    Then low the flame of the gas and for 5 mins then keep it aside and wait for it's gas to release by it's own.

    Now place a kadhai and pour 2 Tablespoons of Mustard oil. Wait the oil to smoke then add

    Chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, fry it for 2 to 3 mins till it's raw smell disappear. Now add little Turmeric powder, red chilli powder to it and keep frying the masala. Then add cooked dal with Morenga leaves.

    Cook for another 5 mins in Medium flame then add more salt to it. For tadka take a tadka pan pour 1 Teaspoon of deshi Ghee when it starts melting then add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, dry red chilli and few more moringa leaves, Asafoetida and stir it to get more flavour. Now pour the tadka over the dal and enjoy it with Chapati or Steam rice and enjoy.
