Croissants will provide a warm side dish for breakfast as they are unbelievably warm, crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside and extra flaky.

Croissants will provide a warm side dish for breakfast as they are unbelievably warm, crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside and extra flaky.

Measure your flour in a bowl and create a well.

In a another bowl, measure your milk, water, sugar and yeast. Stir to mix and leave the yeast to bloom for 10 min until foamy.

Pour in your melted butter into the milk. And stir then pour the mixture into the flour. Add in your spices, egg and essence. Knead to make a dough.

Leave the dough to proof for 1hr and 30 min

After proofing, roll the dough on a floored surface, shaping it into a circle. Trim the edges to form a rectangular shape and cut into triangles.

On on piece, cut the triangle into two, avoiding the outer edge, place your chocolate chips and roll the dough to the sharp end.

Using skewers... Pinch the centre part to seal. Place your rolled croissants onto a lined tray and leave for 30 min to proof. Brush over with melted butter.

Bake for 25 min at 160 °. Remove the tray and cool. Brush with melted butter to give a shine. Enjoy with some tea.
