Ingredients

20-25 mins
3 people
  • 1/2 CupRice
  • 1finely chopped onion
  • 1/2finely chopped capsicum
  • 1/2 tbspCumin seeds
  • 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  • 6-7curry leaves
  • 1finely chopped green chili
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 and half cupsWater
  • as requiredCurd optional
  • 3-4 tbspOil

20-25 mins
  1. 1

    In a pan, heat oil and add cumin and mustard seeds to it. Add onion, capsicum, green chili, curry leaves, and salt.

    In a mixing jar, churn the rice to a coarse powder. Once the ingredients in the pan are fried for 5-7 mins add turmeric and churn rice to it.

    Let it fry for another 5 mins.

    Now add water to it and stir it well. optional curd can be added. Let it be cooked until a thick consistency is obtained.

    Keep it stirring to avoid lumps. Rice upma is ready to serve.
