Soak mungdaal overnight. Now wash it and remove cover..

Strain it.and remove excess water. Make a smooth paste.

Take a thick bottom pan. Add ghee. Add mungdaal paste. Stir well. Keep on stirring the halwa on a low to medium flame untill it become a brown clour.

Now boil 1 cup milk and 1 cup water. Add saffron.. add this mixture into halwa.. stir continuously otherwise it will stick to the bottom.add sugar..

The liquid should get absorbed and once again you will see the ghee getting separated.

Now halwa is ready.add cardamom powder., garnish with badam and pistachio
