Ingredients

  • 2 cupmoong beans (green gram)
  • 1 cupjaggery
  • 1/2 cupghee
  • 1/4 cupmixed nuts (roasted)
  • 1/4 teaspooncardamom powder
  • 4 tablespoonmilk

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast the mung for about 3 minutes. Let it cool down. Grind to a sandy texture (similar to semolina).
    In a pan add ghee and roast the mung flour on low heat until it releases nice aroma. This should take about 6 to 7 minutes.

    Add in the nuts and roast for further minute. Add 2 tablespoon of milk and mix. Repeat for the left over milk. Let it cook 30 seconds and turn off gas.
    Transfer in a plate to cool.
    Add the jaggery and roasted mung flour in a food processor and blitz until its incorporated.

    Remove in a plate and add cardamom powder. At this stage you can add more ghee if preferred. Make ladoo and enjoy.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
