Super Soft Cinnamon Rolls

Tasted them on a cruise during tea time and it was love at first bite. This Swedish treat became incredibly popular after arriving in the United States. These are soft, fragrant rolls that are easy to make, requiring just a bit of patience for the dough to rise.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
First, prepare the starter to keep the rolls soft. Mix the water and milk and dissolve the yeast in it. Add 3/4 cup of flour (about 100 grams) from the total, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in the turned-off oven for a couple of hours.
- 2
After the time has passed, add the sugar, egg, and oil to the starter, and finally the salt, and mix with a spoon. Then add the rest of the flour and knead. You should get a smooth dough; if it sticks to your hands, sprinkle with a little flour. Let it rise for another 3 hours, covered.
- 3
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to form a rectangle about 22x14 inches (55x35 cm).
- 4
Brush with the melted butter and the mixture of sugar and cinnamon, then roll it up.
- 5
Cut rolls about 1/2 inch thick and place them on a baking sheet, spaced apart. They need to rise for another hour and will stick together.
- 6
Bake in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 25 minutes until golden but not burnt. Let cool and drizzle with the glaze made by mixing the water with the powdered sugar.

These cinnamon rolls take a lot of work but are very worth it if you have the time. Notice the full pound of butter these rolls call for? They are the best I've ever had. Thick and chewy; sweet and cinnamon-y. I think the frosting is what makes these stand apart. I don't care for the cream cheese frosting found on so many recipes. These have lots of thick, fluffy frosting made from powdered sugar and it's hard to beat. Makes 2 dozen 4" rolls so invite friends and family.Mutus

I was asked to make cinnamon rolls shown in the pamphlet so they could be served at a movie screening, but I wasn't satsified with the original dough...I tried various things, and finally settled on this combination while leaving the original image intact. If you use milk with a high ratio of sugar, the dough will just become heavy. I lightened it up a bit with skim milk. It's a waste to throw away the cut edges, so wrap in them aluminum foil and bake them. Recipe by uronn cookpad.japan -

This time, its is my first attempt at making a bread recipe. It unexpectedly went very well.●If you heat up the milk too much, just make sure to cool it.●When you first start kneading the dough, it will be sticky, but keep at it and give it your best for about 10 minutes.
