Sweet Potato Rice: The Subtle Sweetness Makes Me Happy! Sweet Potato Rice: The Subtle Sweetness Makes Me Happy!
My mother taught me this recipe, and I adjusted the amounts.Put the cut up sweet potato in a bowl of water right away, or it will turn black.Put the sake in the rice cooker with the rice, before filling with water. If you add it after filling up the water to the line, there will be too much liquid.Even with the sweet potato added, you can use the regular amount of water used to cook 3 rice cooker cups of rice.I sliced the sweet potato 1.5 cm thick, and then quartered the slices. Nagoya Style Sticky Chewy Ogre Dumplings (Oni-Manjuu) Nagoya Style Sticky Chewy Ogre Dumplings (Oni-Manjuu)
We received big sweet potatoes as a gift, so I tried making a regional speciality of my hometown Nagoya, ogre dumplings, with them. You can also use a regular steamer.Be sure to draw the moisture out of the sweet potato in Step 2, and don't throw out that liquid. You can adjust the chewy-stickiness with the amount of shiratamako added, and the sweetness with the sugar. When I tried making these, I was so surprised that it's so easy. Oatmeal and Sweet Potato Steamed Bread Oatmeal and Sweet Potato Steamed Bread
This is a variation of my recipe for "Oatmeal Cinnamon Steamed Bread".It's a recipe to use leftover sweet potatoes. You can use the oatmeal as is, but the texture will be chewier and more moist if you take the trouble to pulverize it into a powder. You can prevent condensation from dripping onto the buns by wrapping the steamer lid in cloth, and fixing it with a rubber band. (Don't let the cloth catch on fire!) Recipe by Miyakojika cookpad.japan -
Sweet potato and chips chaat Sweet potato and chips chaat
Chaat is a bold and colourful snack that is a “must” have for iftar. It is made almost on daily basis with some variations.Chaat is a popular street food snack that combines the crunch of chips with bold flavours of chaat masala, fresh herbs, chutneys, vegetables, spices and lemon juice. The best thing is that it is easy to prepare and takes little time, which makes it ideal for a weekday when you are too exhausted to stand by a stove after a lengthy fast.A humble blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavours, this Sweet Potato and Chips Chaat, on the other hand, is different from the regular aloo channa chaat (Chickpeas and Potato Chaat). Here sweet potato replaces the regular boiled potatoes and there are no chickpeas either. This recipe is simple. Chop the boiled, peeled sweet potato and mix it with onion, cilantro and green chillies along with salt, chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat masala and lemon juice. Just combine everything and just before serving, crush chips and add. Enjoy! In this recipe, everything is balanced – sweetness of the sweet potato, faint pungency of chaat masala, and tanginess of lemon juice and crunch of chips. That’s the flavor pairing, you would absolutely love. This is a super quick, low-fat, nutritious snack to enjoy. Sarvat Hanif -

How to Make a Homemade Thai-style Sauce for Chilled Noodles How to Make a Homemade Thai-style Sauce for Chilled Noodles
I try different toppings and sauces for chilled noodles as we often eat them in summer and we don't want to be tired of them! Sometimes we prefer them to our usual Chinese-style chilled noodles. With plenty of lime and lemon juice, you can get a lot of vitamin C and you can get through a hot summer.Sourness and sweetness vary according to the different makes of chilli sauce. Adjust the amount of honey and vinegar. If you are not so keen on coriander leaves, use mitsuba instead. I like its fragrance and flavour. Serve with toasted sesame seeds and ra-yu, if you like.
