For Bentos: Corn and Cheese Egg Chakin (Bundles)

The nursery school my daughter used to go to used to have bento days even for children younger than 3...I wanted to include her favorite corn kernels, but they're small and difficult to eat, so I folded them into little omelettes!
The cheese is salty, so please adjust the seasoning. You can add sugar to make it a little bit sweet. Small children may find this easier to eat if you cut it up into 3 to 4 pieces. When holding the wrapped omelette, please be careful not to burn yourself! Recipe by Yomehunch

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Microwave the corn kernels for 30 to 40 seconds, or saute lightly in a frying pan.
- 2
Beat the eggs in a bowl and season with the seasoning of your choice. (I used salt and pepper.)
- 3
Add the cheese (if using sliced cheese rip it up) and the cooked corn kernels to the egg, and mix.
- 4
Heat some oil in a frying pan, put in the egg mixture and cook.
- 5
Turn the heat off before the egg is totally cooked, and transfer the egg to pieces of plastic wrap you've spread out. (I used 2 pieces here.)
- 6
Wrap the plastic wrap around the egg and twist to make a small bundle. (It's hot so be careful not to burn yourself.) Leave for a while.
- 7
If you try opening them and they aren't falling apart, take off the wrap and leave to cool before packing in a bento box.

Meat-Wrapped Soft-Boiled Eggs for Bentos Meat-Wrapped Soft-Boiled Eggs for Bentos
I thought that meat-wrapped eggs might be as good as meat wrapped onigiri, so I gave them a try. They were really good! They were great in a bento! (Only use very fresh eggs.)If you don't flour the eggs twice at Steps 2 and 4, the meat will come off them.I recommend using large pieces of thinly sliced beef such as sukiyaki beef. If you have small pieces, try squeezing them tightly on the eggs as if you are making onigiri (rice balls) to make them stick. For 2 to 3 servings. Recipe by Ponie cookpad.japan -

For Bentos: Chikuwa and Quail Egg Teriyaki For Bentos: Chikuwa and Quail Egg Teriyaki
There are usually 8 to 10 eggs in a can of boiled quail eggs, so you won't be able to use it all up if you make 1-2 rolls for a regular bento. So why not make a big batch of these for a Sports Day festival bento!Do your kids get excited about quail eggs as mine do?Add the sauce in over low heat, and make sure to shake the pan back and forth. If you roll the quail eggs the day before (e.g. a big event like Sports Festival), you will be done in 5 minutes the day of.If you wrap these up with the yellow side of the chikuwa facing outward, then the rolls will not look very pleasant. Make sure to roll the browned side outwards! Lol. For 8 rolls. Recipe by Shijimi24 cookpad.japan -
Baked Cheese and Potato Croquettes: Great For Bentos Too! Baked Cheese and Potato Croquettes: Great For Bentos Too!
I remembered seeing a recipe for non-fried croquettes in a magazine 10 or more years ago, and tried it out. That's why I uploaded the recipe.Adjust the cooking time of the potatoes depending on how many you have (less for 1 potato, more for 3 potatoes). When you are dry roasting the bread crumbs in Step 2, be careful not to let them burn. Cheese Chicken Cutlets - Freeze To Use In Bentos Cheese Chicken Cutlets - Freeze To Use In Bentos
When I froze leftovers from dinner to use in bentos, making bentos in the morning got a lot easier. So now I make pre-frozen things just for bentos. You can sprinkle on some dried basil with salt (rock salt and so on) instead of the basil oil.If you use extra virgin olive oil, I think it's more fragrant and tasty, but you can use regular olive oil or vegetable oil instead.
