This is a south Indian chutney made of raw tamarind. During this winter season we get raw tamarind. We buy in bulk and coarsely grind and store. Whenever want to make chutney we take some portion and make a delicious chutney which is rich in vitamin c.

Clean the tamarind and cut into pieces and pound in mortar stone with salt. Do this in batches. Then remove the seeds.

Fry methi seeds cool then grind to powder.Take coriander leaves and 6 to 7 green chillies

Take a portion from tamarind pulp grind with chillies, coriander leaves. Take 2tbsp oil in pan and add 1tsp mustard seeds, 1tsp urad dal and few red chillies. fry till golden brown add hingu.

Pour the tadka on chutney. Mix well and serve wt hot rice and ghee.
