Chicken veg Kholey (Rice and dal porridge with chicken and veg)

This is an easy rice and dal porridge recipe which my grandma used to make for breakfast ( grandpa's favourite)and when we used to fall sick. I love it more with the Pahari Starchy white rie but since its not easily available for me I use other rice.Govindabhog/ Ambemohor.I love adding a pinch of #Turmeric to it while my grandma skipped it. Sometimes I love adding some carrot beans and chicken and make it more nutritious.

Wash the rice and dal add in a pan/ kadai/ pot with all the ingredients along with enough water except the butter and tempering ingredients.

You can add hot water in between as an when needed. Cook till rice and dal becomes mushy and veg and chicken gets cooked.

Heat ghee and add whole dry chilli and ajwain and once it starts crackling put it the cooked kholey/ porridge.mix and serve hot.top it with a dollop of butter (optional).
