Everybody's Favorite Sweet and Salty Chicken Soboro

My daughter loves the chicken soboro rice dish served at her school. I made this with my daughter, tasting it along to recreate the flavor she loves.

Make sure you give it a good mix before turning the heat on to ensure the end result becomes crumbly.
You can add finely chopped leek or ground sesame if you like.
You don't have to eat it with white rice; try it with sushi rice or mixed into a tamagoyaki! Recipe by Mikko*mikko

Ingredients

2 servings
  • 200 gramsMinced (ground) chicken
  • 2 tbspSugar
  • 1 tbspMirin
  • 1 tbspSake
  • 2to 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1Grated ginger

Steps

  1. 1

    Put all the ingredients in a frying pan. Before turning on the heat give it a good stir.

  2. 2

    Over medium to low heat, stir with four chopsticks held together.

    When most of the water has evaporated, it's done!

  4. 4

    I ate it over rice. You can mix it into the rice too.
