Preheat the oven to 170 degrees for 10mins.

Sift the dry ingredients I.e maida,baking powder, baking soda,salt in a separate bowl.

In another bowl, beat the butter and slowly add the powdered sugar.Beat until it becomes pale and smooth(is called creaming)
Add all the wet ingredients which are eggs(one at a time),orange essence, food colour,zest and orange juice and mix well. Lastly add the canola oil and mix. - 4
Now start adding the dry ingredients into the wet mixture in batches and slowly mix using the cut and fold method.

5.Once the dry ingredients are well incorporated into the wet mixture, transfer it into a greased baking tin and bake for 40-45 mins at 170 degrees or until the toothpick inserted at the centre comes out clean.
