Tagliatelle ai Frutti di Mare

Steps
- 1
Heat oil in pan and saute onion and garlic until soft and translucent, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2
Add anchovies and tomato paste. Saute for 2 minutes or until it developed a darker hue.
- 3
Add canned tomato, half cup water, chili flakes and basil. Season with about 2 tsp salt. Bring to a gentle simmer for about 15 minutes to reduce the sauce.
- 4
Add clam juice and white wine. Bring to boil and then simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Add the mussels and cover. Cook for 8-10 minutes then transfer mussels into a separate bowl. Discard mussels that did not open.
- 6
Add into the sauce the shrimp and squid. Once it starts to boil again, turn off heat and cover for 8-10 minutes. Transfer the shrimp and squid into a separate bowl.
- 7
Cooked pasta according to packaging direction, less 2 minutes until al dente.
Bring the sauce into a gentle simmer.
About 2 minutes before the pasta is cooked into al dente, transfer the pasta into the sauce and continue cooking until al dente. Add shrimp, squid and the half cup basil. Turn off heat.
- 8
Transfer into serving dish and then add the mussels. Garnish with parsley as desired.
