Ingredients

Preparation Time-24hrs, Cooking Time-20 mins

  1. 250 gmsUrad Dal
  2. 500 gmsyoghurt
  3. 1 ” ginger
  4. 1 tspfennel paste
  5. 2-3green chilli paste
  6. 1/2 tspkalonji
  7. 250 mloil
  8. As per tasteSalt
  9. 100 gmssugar
  10. 1 tspcumin-whole red chilli roasted and powder
  11. Forgarnishing - red chilli powder, coriander leaves, black salt, salt, roasted powder or cumin-whole red chilli

Steps

Preparation Time-24hrs, Cooking Time-20 mins
  1. 1

    Soak the Urad Dal overnight. Discard the water and add to a blender to make a smooth paste

  2. 2

    Add kalonji, fennel seed paste, chopped ginger, salt and beat well.

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a pan. Make balls from Urad Dal paste and slowly add to the oil to make Bara. When golden in colour. Add to a bowl of water immediately for 1 min. Complete the batches and in a similar manner dip the balls in water and set aside all fried Bara.

  4. 4

    In a bowl beat the yogurt very well. Add salt and sugar. Add cumin-whole red chilli mix powder and beat very well again.

  5. 5

    Add the fried Bara to the yogurt and let it soak all the yogurt.

  6. 6

    Garnish with chopped coriander, cumin-whole red chilli mix powder, black salt, red chilli powder and chopped coriander leaves. Enjoy
