Soft Simmered Pork Belly

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

This is a hearty dish for guys. I made it when my husband exclaimed, "I want to eat meat!!" It takes a while to make, but you just have to keep it on the heat, so you can make this while cooking other dishes. It is a miraculous simmered pork belly, which will soon be gone in no time.

The meat will shrink while simmering, so it would be better to cut the meat slightly big. Recipe by Mogutan1022

  2. 2

Pour vegetable oil in a pan and stir fry the cut meat for about 5 minutes to brown. Absorb excess oil with a paper towel.

This is the soup after boiling the meat. Take out the meat. You can use this to make soup!

  5. 5

Pour 100ml each of water and sake, and all the seasoning ingredients to the empty pan and heat.

  6. 6

When it comes to a boil, add the meat. Then cover with a small lid that sits right on top of the food and simmer for about 30 to 40 minutes. Flip the meat frequently.

  7. 7

Take off the small lid and turn the heat to slightly strong. Simmer and coat well, then it is done.

  8. 8

I used the soup remaining in the pan to season fried rice and made a soup.
