Soak tur dal for 1/2 hr. Chop the palak leaves. Then pressure cooker the dal till 3 whistles.

Now in a kadai, add butter and oil, crackle jeera,, add ginger garlic and green chillies paste. Let it cook for a while. Then add chopped onions. Allow the onions to cook well. Then add tomato puree. Mix well.

Now add the dry spices. Mix well. Add the palak leaves. Cover and cook till the leaves are cooked. Then add the boiled dal. Mix well and cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add kasuri methi powder just before removing it from the gas.

Remove it in a bowl, garnish it with green chillies. Serve it with lime juice and some sliced onions. Enjoy it with rice, roti/parantha

To make it more yummy and beautiful, can season it again heating ghee, cracklimg some whole jeera, green chillies/whole red chillies,, garlic, ginger juliennes and kashimiri red chilli powder. Adds more flavour to your dal palak, but I just kept it simole.
