Soak the green gram dal in water for 10 minutes or so.

Then remove the water you have soaked the dal in and pressure cook the dal in 2 bowls of water for 4 to 5 whistle.

After the green gram dal gets cooked properly. Temper it with ghee, garlic cloves. Let the garlic cloves get nice and brown when you toast and slit green chillies. Salt to taste.
