Steps
- 1
Mix toor dal and Chana dal, wash it properly and soak for 15-20 mins. Add 2 cups of water to it and chopped palak leaves.
- 2
Pressure cook for 2 whistles and then simmer for 5 mins. Let the pressure release.
- 3
Open cooker and mix it well. Don’t mash too much. Little chana dal pieces tastes good.
- 4
Now we will prepare tadka. Heat 2 table spoon ghee. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once it crackles add chopped garlic. Then asafoetida. Once garlic becomes golden brown add green chilles and turmeric powder. Switch off gas and add this tadka to dal. Add salt as per taste. Boil it for 4-5 minutes and serve hot with Jeera rice or paratha with more ghee on top.
